So last night, we attended Diner en Blanc for the third time. The concept for this event was born almost 30 years ago in Paris, when Francois Pasquier and his wife met a few friends for a picnic in Bois de Boulogne. Albuquerque is small, but there is a bit of cosmopolitan flavor to this city. So we were lucky that 2 years ago, through the initial effort of Micaela Brown, we joined some 70 other cities in the world to host a DEB. Although the last two events were quite charming for us “veterans,” I confess that the excitement of the first time we attended was off the charts!
The number of people attending grew from 800 in the first year to 1,200 in 2015 to 1,400 this year. There are plans to continue growing it and I am quite sure we’ll continue participating as well – it’s became one of those events that we are gladly anticipating around this time of year.
Well, unfortunately with all the preparations, the late night yesterday, plus a marketing workshop I had this morning, the planned daily activities somehow fell on the wayside. Pretty much all I managed to get in was a hike with the dogs yesterday afternoon, so I’ve got some catching up on working out and jewelry crafting over the weekend. But hey, I’ve got no complaints!
Wishing everybody a fun and relaxing weekend! Onward,
Cristina
